Who is This Course For?


This course is for learners who currently work or are wanting to develop the skills and knowledge to work as an Accounts Clerk, Office Administrator, Accounts Officer, or Payroll Officer in the following industries: 


  • Business Administration 
  • Human Resource Management 
  • Superannuation 
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping 
  • Financial Services 
  • Other industries where role functions are similar 


About This Course


This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of entry-level business services job roles. This qualification also reflects the role of  individuals who have not yet entered the workforce and are developing the necessary skills in preparation for work.


These individuals carry out a range of basic procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require self-management and technology skills. They perform a range of mainly routine tasks using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge in a defined context. Individuals in these roles generally work under direct supervision.


Course Duration


12 months


Units of Competence


Students will be required to undertake 10 units of competence including 5 core and 5 elective units. Course units are delivered sequentially and should be completed over a 12-month period.

BSBPEF202  - Plan and apply time management

BSBSUS211  - Participate in sustainable work practices

BSBWHS211  - Contribute to the health and safety of self and others

BSBOPS202 - Engage with customers

BSBOPS203 - Deliver a service to customers

BSBTWK201 - Work effectively with others

BSBCRT201 - Develop and apply thinking and problem-solving skills

BSBDAT201 – Collect and record data

Study Mode  


There are 2 options available for learners to complete this course. Learners may elect either of the following study options.  


  • Online/Distance: 100% self-directed online learning with access to pre-recorded tutorials for all units. Enrol anytime.
  • On Campus: Classroom attendance 4 hours per week at our Kilmore Campus. 4 Intakes per year. Ask us about the next intake date.


Entry Requirements 


This is an open entry course with no pre-requisites required for entry. 

We do recommend that all learners applying for entry to this course:

 

  • Have completed Year 10 or above.
  • Are able to use a computer to produce documents. 
  • Have Microsoft Office (or freeware equivalent) installed on their computer. 
  • Access to a reliable high-quality internet connection. 
  • Adequate literacy/numeracy skills.
